Our lovely Duchess Catherine (Kate Middleton) is known for her "sensible" fashion sense. One of the reasons why we love her is for her love of the "High Street" brands, as we say it here in the UK. These are brands/labels which are not very expensive like premium designers. In other words if a person wanted to style herself like Kate, these labels are easy to access and afford even if you do only one purchase a year.
So the outfit she chose for her appearence in Ipswich for the opening of a children's hospice wasn't a surprise for many of us as it was from a "High Street" label, Reiss. Same label for the white dress she wore for her pre release engagement pictures. The surprise came when it was realised that her mother Carole Middleton had worn the very same dress to Ascot in 2009.

By the way the hat her mother wore to Ascot was previously worn by the Dutchess to a wedding. So the Middleton Ladies do share the same fashion sense!
